Episode Overview

Rangi Ram discovers that both Gunner Parkins and the Sergeant Major have a picture of the same woman displayed by their beds. This woman is Parky’s mother and the only one the Sergeant Major ever truly loved. When Rangi shares this with the Sergeant Major, he leaps to the conclusion that Parky must be his son. As Gunner Parkins prepares for a posting 'up the jungle', Williams brainstorms ways to stop this from happening. He decides to get Parky involved in the Concert Party as a ventriloquist. Meanwhile, the camp receives the exciting news of the German surrender and the war's end in Europe.
