Episode Overview

Palmer, Mike, and Lynne weigh different options for dealing with the ticking bomb and ultimately decide that detonating it in the desert is the safest choice. Jack realizes that one person needs to pilot the plane carrying the bomb, and he makes the difficult decision to take on that role himself, saying an emotional farewell to his daughter. Meanwhile, Tony and Michelle grow wary of a Middle Eastern diplomat who is probing into the evidence surrounding Syed Ali. As the situation escalates, Palmer heads to Los Angeles to be present when the public learns about the nuclear threat.
