After purchasing a horse with severe brain damage that leads to over $100,000 in damages, Peter takes part in medical trials to earn some extra money. One of the genes he receives alters his sexuality, causing him to leave Lois for another man. While the family is initially devastated by the news, they soon come to understand that Peter's happiness is what truly matters.
