Episode Overview

Niamh's plans for her wedding take an unexpected turn when a stone statue crashes from the church and lands on her fiancé's car. Just moments after he steps out, he interprets this as a sign to become a priest. Despite Peter's attempts to dissuade him, Ambrose decides to end their engagement. Meanwhile, Niamh struggles with the thought of her father reconnecting with an old flame. In the countryside, local farmer Eamonn tries to prove the existence of his elusive sheep to the EU for a subsidy by making wooden replicas. Determined to hold her wedding reception despite the cancellation, Niamh's 'Hardly a Wedding Reception' leads to a surge in stout sales, which Assumpta generously provides for free. After some encouragement from Peter, Ambrose unexpectedly shows up at the celebration and proposes to Niamh again.
