Episode Overview

After saying a heartfelt farewell to Assumpta, Peter embarks on a solitary walk. Ambrose eventually tracks him down at the statue of the Blessed Virgin, a spot where he and Assumpta once shared meaningful conversations. Ambrose is frustrated, believing Peter is overlooking the collective grief felt by the entire community, having known Assumpta since childhood. He brings Peter back, where Father Mac presses him about his future with the Church, a topic Peter is reluctant to confront. Meanwhile, a journalist attempts to uncover scandalous details about Assumpta, but her friends thwart every effort. Peter plans a wake on the hillside, and the following day he officiates Kieran's christening. Afterward, he departs the town quietly, only exchanging farewells with Brendan. With one last glance at the village, he leaves just as he arrived—unnoticed.
