As summer winds down in the Hamptons, Serena and Nate have successfully created the illusion of being an item, masking Nate's secret affair with an older, married woman. Blair arrives back from her trip abroad, flaunting a handsome new boyfriend, which triggers jealousy in Chuck, who regrets abandoning her at the heliport. Meanwhile, Dan has been busy all summer working as an assistant for a well-known author. Jenny, interning at Eleanor Waldorf’s company, manages to snag an invitation to the exclusive White Party, where Eric introduces her to the glamorous socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
