Notably, John Houseman does not reprise his role as Kingsfield; he reportedly declined to appear due to the network's decision to simplify the scripts. Instead, a guest professor, played by Pernell Roberts, steps in to assist Hart with his romantic dilemmas. It's also worth mentioning that Houseman insisted he would not participate in the Showtime seasons unless it was guaranteed that this episode would never be rebroadcast.
