Wild Brazil (2014)
S01E02 Facing the flood
Episode Overview
After several months of monsoon rains in the Andes and Amazon rainforest, the mountain streams overflow, triggering dramatic floods that impact Brazilian wildlife. Capuchin monkeys living on the cliffs take advantage of the surge in vegetation, while their young quickly adapt to reduce their reliance on their mothers and navigate the tough social hierarchy. Otters revel in the plentiful fish, but they must evade predators like caimans and even the formidable jaguar. Meanwhile, the coati are forced to move to higher ground as their lowland prairies become submerged, but they find plenty to eat in the form of lungfish in the remaining pools.
