After being rescued from the East River by Officer Sean “Mac” McGrath, Ray is transported over the bridge to Staten Island, where he hopes to start anew. However, his plans are disrupted when Sam Winslow arrives, bringing with him reminders of Ray's troubled past. As Ray grapples with old demons and his father Mickey hatches a scheme from behind bars, he faces the difficult possibility of being drawn back into the life he tried to leave behind. This marks the beginning of the new season.
