Jem has been out of touch for a while, and Jerrica seems indifferent about it. Seizing the opportunity, the Misfits jump in when Owen Beech, the head of Diskovery Records, announces a contest featuring a Gold Album award and a sleek Glitter and Gold Roadster for the winner. After a disagreement with Rio, the Holograms urge Jerrica to create a new album to rival the Misfits. Initially hesitant, Jerrica changes her mind upon overhearing Eric claim she destroyed Jem's career. Motivated, she assures Owen Beech that the Holograms will produce a new album for the contest, centering it around the theme of Glitter and Gold.
