Episode Overview
Detective Michael Britten grapples with his two conflicting realities. In one, he seeks to bond with his son, Rex, offering him a sense of normality as they navigate the aftermath of his mother’s passing. In the other, he strives to comprehend the grief his wife, Hannah, is experiencing. As he and his rookie partner, Vega, investigate the murder of a homeless man, a witness mentions a "small guy" seen at the crime scene. This clue unexpectedly ties into Britten's other case, leaving Bird puzzled by Britten's sudden curiosity about the suspects’ heights. Meanwhile, Britten's captain grows increasingly worried about his state of mind. As questions arise about the tragic incident that transformed Britten's life, Dr. Lee and Dr. Evans continue to debate their differing views on his condition.
