Baines decides to bring on Mr. Nakamura, a hotel consultant from Japan, to help design a new, compact wing for Bayview, which would allow for more residents. In response, Tom establishes the Bayview Conservation Society and recruits Diana to show how the proposed construction would harm local wildlife and disrupt the natural surroundings, ultimately aiming to halt the project.
