Trapper and Hawkeye are determined to prevent Hot Lips from transferring a new nurse, competing for her attention in the process. Meanwhile, Colonel Henry Blake is pressured by a rival commander into a boxing match, forcing Trapper to face off against a menacing opponent to secure the nurse's stay at the 4077th. To ensure Trapper's success, Hawkeye and Ugly John concoct a plan involving a glove doused in ether, which wins the nurse's admiration. Margaret and Frank's efforts to sabotage the outcome fail spectacularly when they get knocked out by the defeated boxer!
