Alex quickly discovers she hasn't made it home and instead finds herself in 1983. Gene is on the run, while DCI Jim Keats has come from Complaints to look into CID following the recent shooting. Newly-promoted DI Ray Carling takes charge of a case involving the abduction of a young girl and organizes a sting operation. Determined to return to her own time, Alex realizes she must uncover the truth about Gene.
