S02E03 Harriet Tubman
Episode Overview
Harriet Tubman has spent her life in bondage, toiling under the weight of slavery. However, deep within her heart, she yearns for freedom and dreams of reaching the "promised land." Upon discovering the existence of an "Underground Railroad" and a Quaker woman who aids escaping slaves, Harriet confides in her father about her plans to flee. He warns her of the dangers and doubts the railroad's existence, but her resolve remains strong. At the Quaker woman's home, she learns about the network of "conductors" leading to the North. Once in Philadelphia, Harriet is astonished by the numerous paths to liberty. When she hears of her family's impending sale, she resolves to return South, determined to free them. Defying the stationmaster's cautions, she embarks on perilous missions, ultimately rescuing her entire family and over 300 enslaved individuals, earning her the title "Moses of her people,"
