Episode Overview

Rick and Beau embark on an adventure along the River Trent, retracing the violent path of the Vikings who invaded 9th century Britain. This marks the first archaeological search of vital Viking locations along the river as they seek artifacts linked to Chief Ivar The Boneless and the Great Heathen Army, who fought against the Anglo-Saxon kings. Their journey begins near Repton Monastery, the site of the largest Viking burial ground in the British Isles, before moving on to the Tame, a tributary of the Trent in Tamworth. Rick realizes a childhood dream when he uncovers Viking relics, along with an ancient stylus that could date back to the abbey's early days.
