Episode Overview

Annie has been seeing Seth Rudetski for six weeks, and he thinks it's time for her to meet his parents, an intellectual duo who host "Nothing Trivial," a quiz show for colleges on public radio. To Annie's surprise, his parents are huge fans of Caroline's comic strip and convince her to join as a celebrity contestant. This brings back painful memories for Caroline, as a flashback reveals her past struggle at a state spelling bee. While Del and Charlie try to help her manage her anxiety, she seeks support from Richard, prompting Julia to offer her own advice. Meanwhile, Annie grapples with the pressure stemming from Seth’s overly affectionate relationship with his parents.
