S03E03 The Ties That Bind
Episode Overview
Col. Carl Brewster arrives in the local Vietnamese town to declare the "boom-boom" parlor off-limits due to an outbreak of STDs among the troops. Meanwhile, Goldman and McKay attend the funeral for their fallen comrade, Alex, who died in a bombing. Anderson and the rest of the squad have been reassigned to MACV-SOG under Brewster's leadership. Brewster coerces Hockenberry into "volunteering" for a special task to shut down the brothels. Goldman struggles with his grief over Alex's death, while Anderson contemplates taking leave to visit his daughter but worries about leaving Goldman behind. Upon returning to the unit, Goldman and Anderson meet Brewster for the first time. Goldman disrupts a gathering when the squad reunites with Baker, appointing Johnson as acting leader while Anderson is on leave. Zeke pays a visit to his ex-wife, Carol, and their daughter, Katie.
