Lauren's alcohol consumption spirals out of control when a night of heavy drinking leads her to blackout and wake up in a cab. When police knock at her door with news that her car has been found wrecked and abandoned, she unwittingly keeps details to herself, leading them to believe her vehicle was stolen. However, the truth is far more troubling—she drove while intoxicated and crashed before passing out in the taxi. Meanwhile, Mel returns to 232 with unexpected news: she has adopted a baby. Although the swift change leaves her feeling uncertain, Sean discovers his natural rapport with the child and offers to return to Abu Dhabi to support Mel as she navigates motherhood.
