Episode Overview
Title: Labels Plot: After a summer kiss, Robin and Barney find themselves unsure about their feelings and how to proceed. They decide to tell their friends they want to stay just friends, while secretly dating behind their backs. Their hidden relationship lasts a few months until Ted, Marshall, and Lily catch them in the act. They reveal to the group that they’re content with their no-strings-attached arrangement but are hesitant to put a label on it. This doesn’t sit well with Lily, who insists they define things and ultimately locks them in Robin’s room to confront the issue. Meanwhile, Ted nervously navigates his new role as a professor at Columbia, only to mistakenly attend the wrong class and start his lecture there.
