Episode Overview

Asten compels Quincy to take a forced break, bringing in Dr. McCracken, a pathologist, as a temporary stand-in instead of a Medical Examiner. Coincidentally, on the very same day, the body of a controversial Congressman, Laurence Bridges, is discovered at the base of the stairs in his office. With both the press and police eager for a swift resolution regarding Bridges' death, Quincy fears that McCracken won't conduct a comprehensive investigation. This leads to a clash of personalities as Quincy attempts to insert himself into her case.
