Episode Overview

While walking down the street, midwife Olivia is approached by a woman in distress, pleading for assistance with a childbirth. Despite knowing she shouldn't intervene, Olivia can't ignore the friend's desperation and agrees to help. Tragically, the baby does not survive the delivery. After rushing the infant to the hospital, Olivia is shocked to learn that her actions are deemed negligent, leading to her arrest for murder. Concerned for her friend, Dr. Reed seeks out Quincy to perform an independent autopsy on the baby, hoping to uncover evidence that could exonerate Olivia.
