While on a date with the new mayor, Pepper receives a tip for a story, only to find out later that he exploited her investigation for his own political gain. At the same time, Kathy is determined to lift spirits at the station by organizing birthday celebrations and discovers that both Pepper and Babcock have their birthdays on the same day.
