King Yeongjo commands that San be locked away in his quarters. Determined to assist San, Duk Im puts her mind to work, seeking a way to extricate him from his predicament. She discovers a hidden document that details the agreement between His Majesty and the deceased Crown Prince. Meanwhile, San finds himself accused of treason and is interrogated by King Yeongjo in the presence of the royal council.
