Fans will be taken aback by this distinctive bookcase, as it deviates from traditional Shaker styles. Constructed by Elder Green in 1898, the original cupboard was designed to house specific documents in the Shaker Community library located in Sabbathday Lake, Maine. Made from butternut and walnut, it featured an intricate cornice crafted from multiple mouldings. Norm took inspiration from this original piece, creating a revised version that is slightly shorter and narrower, using cherry wood for his adaptation.
