In the 16th season, Norm tackles the intricate "Fan Back" Windsor chair from Lancaster County, a demanding woodworking endeavor. He visits Bill and Sally Wallick in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, where he gains essential guidance for constructing his chair. Bill demonstrates the process of carving the seat, turning the legs, fitting the steam-bent maple "crest" rail, and attaching the elegant yet sturdy spindles. Following this, Sally showcases her technique for artificially aging the chairs, creating a convincing patina that can deceive even seasoned experts.
