Episode Overview

In this episode, Norm explores the historic Old Schwamb Mill in Arlington, Massachusetts, established in 1860 and later acquired by German woodworkers Charles and Frederick Schwamb in 1864. The brothers successfully produced oval picture frames that were popular for showcasing Civil War soldier photographs. While in the Schwamb Brothers’ former office, Norm discovers an elegant quarter-sawn oak roll top desk, which sparks his inspiration to create his own version of this classic American piece.
