Norm embarks on a quest to uncover low-country furniture designs, beginning in Savannah's historic Monterey Square at the residence of antique map dealers, Virginia and John Duncan. On their porch, he stumbles upon a classic piece of Southern history: a planter's desk that once served cotton and tobacco growers for their accounts. Today, this desk is ideal for a cozy home office setup. With its elegantly tapered legs, a hinged top, and ample shelving, it can easily accommodate a compact computer. Back at the New Yankee Workshop, Norm crafts this desk using recycled pine and enhances it with a light pastel stain for a charming "pickled" finish.
