Episode Overview
When Janine McGregor, a mother searching for her missing daughter, walks into Nick Fallin's Legal Services office, he becomes entwined in her quest for both closure and justice. Ten years after her daughter Grace vanished, Janine is unable to access a settlement from a car accident they were involved in, as the insurance company won’t release the funds without proof of Grace’s death. Desperate, Janine seeks to have Grace declared deceased. Just as the judge is about to finalize the declaration, Grace unexpectedly returns, claiming she was kidnapped in Europe. Nick urges Janine to confirm Grace's identity, but Janine is convinced this girl is truly her daughter. Meanwhile, Nick and his father, Burton Fallin, mourn the loss of Judge Stanton, a close friend and mentor, prompting Burton to reflect on his life and career.
