Holmes was crafting his own dark legacy. He constructed a hotel infamous for its deadly design, later dubbed "The Murder Castle." This three-story establishment was equipped with hidden passageways, gas chambers, and acid pits, all intended to facilitate the gruesome murders of around 200 individuals.
