Sonny Drysdale tells Elly May that he’ll get her a ring, leading Granny to believe he’s planning a proposal and igniting her matchmaking instincts. Meanwhile, Cousin Pearl is determined that Elly May shouldn’t wed before Jethrine, so she takes it upon herself to find a match for Jethrine, setting her sights on Jasper Depew.
