Granny feels lonely and wants to return home due to the unwelcoming atmosphere, with no visitors stopping by. Jed persuades her to pay a visit to their neighbors, and to their surprise, they are warmly received and showered with gifts when they arrive in their usual hillbilly attire on Halloween. Meanwhile, Jed is busy trying to entice Pearl to visit, while she’s occupied with her attempts to secure a marriage with the oilman and find a suitable partner for Jethrine.
