Unbeknownst to her, Mr. Drysdale jumps into action, promoting his wife's candidacy behind her back. This sparks a heated exchange of barbs between Granny and Mr. Drysdale. When Mrs. Drysdale discovers the commotion, she retreats to her bedroom, overwhelmed. Feeling remorseful for her harshness, Granny decides to step aside and withdraw from the competition for Possum Queen, hoping to mend things with Mrs. Drysdale.
