Episode Overview

The Mayor of Bugtussle makes an appearance, and the Clampetts enthusiastically roll out the red carpet for him. He confides in Mr. Drysdale that he needs funds for the city and had hoped to approach Jed for help, but couldn't bring himself to do it. When Drysdale inquires about the amount, the Mayor states that $100,000 would suffice. Drysdale declines to assist, prompting the Mayor to seek out Jed instead. However, Jethro interrupts his attempt, leading Jed to jokingly suggest to Granny that the Mayor might be proposing to her. Later, Mr. Drysdale shows up with a check, while the Mayor quickly exits.
