Granny demands an apology from General Grant for his assault on the Culpepper plantation. Meanwhile, Colonel Blake is eager to recruit Jethro for the army reserve, but first, Jethro must complete a written exam. After taking the oath, Jethro overhears a conversation between General Grant and Colonel Blake, where Grant reveals plans to strike the plantation once more. Alarmed, Jethro rushes to inform Granny, who promptly takes action by shooting Grant off his horse again!
