The Beverly Hillbillies (1962)

S06E16 Corn Pone Picassos

Dec 20, 1967 Season 6 Episode 16 Comedy, Family

Episode Overview

Mrs. Drysdale has just acquired an art sculpture named 'Ecstasy' for $2,500, but it mistakenly gets delivered to the Clampett mansion. She rushes over to inform the delivery man of the mix-up and instructs him to take it next door. The Clampetts view 'Ecstasy' as nothing more than a heap of junk, with Granny confidently claiming she could create a winning painting. After Granny finishes her artwork, Bessie accidentally paints over it. Meanwhile, Jed and Jethro visit an art gallery and are mistaken for gardeners, leading them to mow the lawns. Later, they spot a painting resembling Bessie's in the gallery and impulsively buy a Rembrandt for their home. Granny and Elly then enhance 'Ecstasy' with mud to give it a more artistic look. When A. Allen Allen arrives, he spots Bessie’s painting and offers a handsome price for it.
