Now firmly established on the throne, Henry V appears poised to be a great king when the French ambassador presents a challenge from the Dauphin. Motivated by his advisors, Exeter and York, Henry vows to respond with full force. The chorus describes England's war preparations as Henry’s army sets sail for France. Following Exeter's failed diplomatic efforts with the French king, Henry lays a fierce siege and successfully seizes Harfleur. The French, now recognizing the seriousness of Henry's claims, accept the challenge and prepare to confront the English forces at Agincourt.
