Episode Overview

Nathan finds himself at a pivotal moment as he prepares to donate a kidney to his cherished grandmother, Chel. With the transplant just three days away, Chel’s desire to settle her affairs prompts Nathan to pen letters to his family, fearing he might not make it through the surgery. However, when it comes to writing to his grandfather Tom, he struggles to express his feelings and decides to visit him in prison, despite Dave’s objections. Meanwhile, Ben’s anxiety about Nathan’s letter-writing leads him to act irritable, which Melissa calls him out on. Ultimately, Ben reconciles with Nathan before the surgery. Despite his apprehensions, the operation is a success for both Nathan and Chel. He asks Ben to dispose of the letters, but Rachel secretly reads hers and is moved by his words.
