As patients involved in the hospital's drug trial begin to experience severe side effects, Nic grows increasingly worried about her sister Jessie’s safety. Determined to protect her, she teams up with Conrad to persuade Bell that the trials may pose too great a risk. At the same time, Mina, Austin, and Kit find themselves needing to collaborate despite their competitive instincts when a patient's condition worsens rapidly. Meanwhile, Devon decides to use Julian as the first test subject for a new product he has developed.
