A House Through Time (2018)
S04E02 Episode 2
Episode Overview
David delves into the life of the house's upcoming resident, Benjamin Wild, a factory owner with a dubious past, including an employee tragically killed on the factory floor. After Wild's factory is set ablaze, supposedly by an irate worker, David wonders if Wild's fortune has finally expired. He then investigates Mary and Andrew Mellish, whose infant was claimed by one of the deadliest diseases of the Victorian era. Moving on, David uncovers the story of William and Mary Lucy Whiting, dedicated pacifists who oppose the Boer War, only to face severe backlash amid rising nationalism. Finally, David reveals the tale of Edward Partridge Fearnley, who navigates life on a luxury cruise ship in the 1920s. However, his experience below deck is marred by a tuberculosis outbreak, far from the glamour of the upper class.
