The Rookies (1972)

Episode Overview

After burglar Brad Gifford is captured, his resentful son, Jody, who has just lost his mother, finds refuge at Lambert Hall. There, he forms a bond with Ryker, a former orphan with his own troubled past. Just as Jody begins to open up to Ryker, Brad manages to escape with the help of Augie Baker and P.G. Larkan, coming to reclaim his son. In the chaos, Ryker gets taken hostage. Mike and Terry track them down, leading to a dramatic shootout that results in Augie’s death, P.G.’s arrest, and Brad suffering fatal injuries. Jody is then returned to the home, where he starts anew with foster parents.
