The Simpson family seeks a temporary place to stay while their home undergoes termite fumigation. With limited choices, they opt to participate in a reality show where families must live like it’s 1895. At first, they struggle to adjust to the old-fashioned lifestyle, leading to a decline in the show's ratings. To revive viewer interest, the producers take drastic measures by floating the house down a river, pushing the Simpsons into the wild. There, they encounter a group of outcasts from other reality shows who end up confronting the producers.
