Homer takes the lead in his quest to bring a professional football team to Springfield. However, when the football commissioner arrives to finalize the franchise deal, Grandpa mistakenly thinks he’s an intruder and confronts him. As a result, Springfield misses out on the team, leaving Abe shunned by the community. After an unsuccessful attempt at assisted suicide, Abe resolves to embrace life fearlessly. When the town repurposes the football stadium for bullfighting, he steps up to become a toreador, prompting his granddaughter Lisa to protest his risky new career choice.
