Episode Overview
After the local representative to the Dail passes away, Brian Quigley is convinced to run for election against Sean Dooley. To gain favor, Brian buys a new church bell, raising Peter’s suspicions. Niamh expresses her frustration over her father's unwillingness to contribute to her wedding reception. A TV crew arrives to cover the election, and the reporter turns out to be Assumpta's former boyfriend, Leo McGarvey, who still harbors feelings for her. Meanwhile, Brian's workers, Liam and Donal, discover a skeleton on his construction site. Ambrose considers pressing charges against Brian, but Peter proposes that they should proceed with the wedding, suggesting that if Brian helps cover the costs, Ambrose might reconsider. Dooley ultimately wins the election, but both Father Mac and Brian are relieved, as it means Dooley will head to Dublin and be out of their lives. Leo decides to stop pursuing Assumpta, hinting instead that she might have feelings for Peter
