S17E10 Myanmar's War in the Air
Episode Overview
Russia is providing the Myanmar military with sophisticated fighter jets and training their pilots for combat against their own citizens. Over two years after the coup, the military is battling a nationwide insurgency, struggling to maintain control and enlist new recruits. As a result, they are increasingly relying on air power, leading to catastrophic outcomes. BBC's Asia editor, Rebecca Henschke, reports on the resistance both on the ground and in the skies. She also interviews defectors from the air force, offering unique perspectives on the tactics and mindset of those piloting these lethal aircraft.
