With Elyse expecting a baby, the family opts to bring in a housekeeper, leading Alex to hire the charming but utterly inept Karen Nicholson. Although she lacks any real domestic abilities and is quickly wreaking havoc on their appliances, the kids instantly take a liking to her. This makes it increasingly challenging for Steven, who is determined to let her go, to follow through with his plan as he grapples with his family's affection for Karen.
