Mallory’s relationship with Nick faces a challenge when she starts attending a poetry reading group and becomes captivated by its charming leader, Colin Spenser, an English graduate student. As she immerses herself in poetry and basks in Colin's flattering attention, Mallory begins to reconsider the idea of being committed to Nick. Although fellow member Joyce warns her about Colin's true intentions based on her past experience, Mallory finds herself enchanted by his romantic gestures, including roses and poetry.
