Episode Overview
Steven is forced to confront his feelings about Mallory’s boyfriend, Nick, when he comes to stay with the Keatons for a week. As Elyse struggles to complete the family taxes and Steven immerses himself in a documentary about Tolstoy, Mallory convinces her parents to let Nick move in while his house is being painted. Elyse agrees but warns Mallory that Nick should keep his distance from Steven, who is preoccupied. On the first night, an overly protective Steven positions himself on the stair landing to keep an eye on the couple. The next morning, when Mallory wakes Nick to prepare breakfast for everyone, Steven rushes into the kitchen, startled by their laughter, only to feel embarrassed when he discovers the truth, resorting to pretending he’s sleepwalking.
