This tragic event echoed a similar case from five years prior, when another student was assaulted and killed in her off-campus residence. Shortly after, another student met a nearly identical fate. Authorities were alarmed, suspecting a serial killer might be targeting these young women, and they needed to figure out the connections among the victims.
