Episode Overview

Title: Pearls Mean Tears Plot: Bertie is summoned to Westcombe-on-Sea by Aunt Agatha, putting his trip to the French Riviera on hold. There, he encounters Aline Hemmingway, whom Aunt Agatha hopes he’ll wed. Aline and her brother leave behind pearls as collateral for a £100 loan from Bertie. However, chaos ensues when both the Hemmingways’ and Aunt Agatha’s pearls mysteriously vanish. In the midst of this, Bertie bumps into Biffy Biffen, who has experienced an extraordinary loss—his fiancée has disappeared. Unfortunately, Biffy can’t seem to recall her last name or much else for that matter.
